Ruth is the Owner and Trainer at Stapleton Farm. Originally from England, she has been in the USA since the 1990s, and became a citizen in 2007.  Ruth holds a B.S. in Psychology and an M.A. in Human Resources, and has many years teaching and training experience.  She has shown through FEI at I-1, and specializes in bringing along young horses.  She has earned her USDF Bronze and Silver medals and Silver Freestyle Bar on Allegro (a horse she bought as a 3yr old) and has scores towards her Gold medal.  She placed in the top 20 in the USDF HOY rankings in 2012 with her KWPN gelding Zhonner at Third Level, and has earned USDF All-Breed Awards from Training through I-1 over the past 10 years.


Ruth brings her own and clients' horses through the levels with classical dressage training in a kind and patient manner.  These horses have gone on to successfully show at USDF shows and win a variety of Show Championships and USDF/USEF National Year End awards. 


In 2013 Ruth took maternity leave and chose not to compete.  Since then, Allegro is coming back into work well, and hopefully will be back in the ring in 2014.  Ruth's young mare Ella is coming along nicely and has taken several field trips.  Ruth sold Zhonner during her pregnancy and looks forwards to watching him teach his new owner.


In 2012 Ruth Showed Allegro at I-1 with scores to 67%, and qualified for Regional Championships.  Zhonner showed at Third and Fourth level with scores in the 70's - qualifying for Regional Championships at both levels and ranking in the Top 20 for Third Level HOY with a  69.4% median.  Allegro was reserve champion for USDF All-Breed Awards at I-1 and Zhonner ranked 5th for the KWPN USDF All Breed awards at Third Level.


2011 Allegro showed at Prix St. George with scores to 65% Qualifying for Region 2 Championships.  He also qualified for Region 2 Championships with a 4th Level Freestyle.  


Ruth's new addition - Zhonner a 7yr old KWPN Gelding is showing at First Levle with scores in the 70's.

In 2010 Ruth sucessfully showed her own horse Allegro at  Fourth Level and Prix St. George while her young horse Scirocco showed at Training Level scoring in the 70's and qualifying for Regionals.  Scirocco was the Open MDA Training Level Champion with a median score of 74.1%


In 2009 Ruth showed Allegro at Third and Fourth Level winning the National USDF All Breed Awards for1st through 4th level Freestyle with a 69.3% median score.  2008 Allegro was the Third Level Freestyle Champion at Region 2 Championships with a Freestyle Ruth choreographed herself.  


In 2007 Ruth was selected to be the Coach for the Michigan State Intercollegiate Dressage Team.  The team rides at Stapleton Farm during the school year and has attended IDA nationals each year and has 2 National Championships in the Upper Training division. 


Ruth's students have been successful both in their personal goals and in the show ring. Her students have qualified for regional championships and a variety of USDF/USEF year end awards in addition to receiving championships and reserve championships at USDF shows.
